Tourism, recreation, and the arts are important components of the Shoreline’s economy. Each dollar invested in this aspect of our economy returns significant business activity, benefiting Shoreline businesses.
Action Needed:
- Hire a Commissioner with demonstrated experience to head the Commission on Arts, Culture and Tourism.
- Increased State investment in tourism, culture and recreation on the Shoreline.
- Support the development of a Shoreline East Legislative Caucus to expand of tourism, culture and recreation.
- Support the development of a defined Shoreline East Regional Tourism District and Cultural Resource Center, encompassing shoreline communities from East Haven to New London.
- Build a regional network bicycle and pedestrian network as a recreational and tourism resource and as an alternative mode of transportation.
