BUDGET / ECONOMIC COMPETITIVENESS AGENDA:

Connecticut’s businesses cannot withstand additional tax or cost increases. The state needs to create an environment which encourages investment and job creation.

Action Needed:

• Eliminate taxes and fees which burden small businesses and discourage business and job growth.
• Coordinate the state’s education, economic and workforce development plans and programs. 
• Support the development of existing and emerging industries that offer opportunities for higher paid employment such as the film industry, nanotechnology, information technology, fossil fuels alternatives, etc.
• Provide policy and funding for educational loan forgiveness and retention incentives. 
• Provide toll-free calling between Madison and Branford.
